‘AI at the Core of Global Semiconductor Competition’ Seminar Explores Computing and Foundry Trends
AI applications are expanding from the cloud into high-performance computing and edge devices. TrendForce said AI has been a key driver of the foundry industry since 2024, boosting demand for advanced processes, packaging, memory and power-management chips. Rising computing-infrastructure costs are also making resource allocation and service-based business models new competitive battlegrounds across the semiconductor value chain.
TrendForce and TechNews held the seminar at the GIS HSP Convention Center in Hsinchu on March 31, 2026. TrendForce forecast that global foundry revenue would reach $218.774 billion in 2026, with Taiwan accounting for 79% and revenue from advanced processes below 16 nanometers rising 36% year on year. InfinitiesSoft also showcased AI-Stack and ixCSP as part of its push to commercialize GPU computing capacity.
