Fanatics Strikes Deal for BGC Exchange Assets
Prediction markets let users trade event contracts tied to verifiable outcomes, a fast-growing business spanning sports, politics and finance. Fanatics launched Fanatics Markets in 2025 and has offered sports contracts through Crypto.com since December 2025. Owning regulated exchange and clearing infrastructure would give the sports-commerce group greater control over product listings, risk management and distribution to its fan base, sharpening competition with Kalshi and Polymarket.
Fanatics and BGC Group said on July 27, 2026, that Fanatics would acquire Water Street Labs, LLC, a Commodity Futures Trading Commission-registered Designated Contract Market, and CX Clearinghouse L.P., a registered Derivatives Clearing Organization. Financial terms were not disclosed. The assets will allow Fanatics Markets to list and clear its own contracts; the companies also plan data products combining prediction-market sentiment with traditional financial-market information. Fanatics Markets is available in 23 U.S. states and four territories.
