Corning Teams Up With TSMC and Intel on Advanced Glass Packaging for AI Chips

Drawing on its glass and optical-fiber expertise, Corning is expanding into interfaces that integrate photonic semiconductors with optical fiber.
Corning recently showcased its next-generation Glass Bridge optical interconnect technology, which can simplify the precise alignment of optical fibers and photonic components. The company is targeting opportunities in CPO and semiconductor packaging and is pairing the technology with its GlassWorks AI platform to build an integrated optical connectivity solution. As of July 20, 2026, reports had not disclosed the exact launch date, mass-production timeline or investment amount.
