Earnings per Share (EPS)

Earnings per share (EPS) measures a company’s after-tax net profit on a per-share basis using its outstanding share count and is widely used to assess operating performance and equity valuations. Financial groups including Chailease, E.Sun Financial, Fubon Financial and CTBC Financial have recently reported record earnings for comparable periods or all-time highs, lifting their EPS. Separately, Chamath has warned that excessive corporate spending on AI could erode future EPS. Monitoring the metric can provide insight into earnings quality, cost trends, dividend capacity and whether market valuations are supported by fundamentals.
